In my opinion, what is happening in the EU regarding regulations like Chat Control, ProtectEU, and Omnibus not only represents a step toward the loss of privacy but is also the construction of a surveillance machine that will drive people to escape from Big Tech platforms in favor of some underground alternatives or smaller sites on TOR/I2P. Navigating these “safe” platforms will resemble the internet of the 2000s. Average users and others who are unaware will remain on those Big Tech platforms.

These Big Tech platforms were once symbols of convenience, but they are now becoming traps. Their dominance only facilitates authorities access to everything we write and send. Imagine this: you send a private message to a friend about politics, joking about something controversial, and an algorithm flags it as “hate speech” and boom, you’re facing a court case. This is the reality that will soon emerge in the EU, pushed under the guise of protecting children or combating disinformation.

It will be similar to the times of Communist Country, where many things cannot be said.
