Progress Update: Our Journey So Far

We wanted to share a recap of our journey so far, highlighting our early story before we launch the next phase.
Progress Update: Our Journey So Far

– Our Story:

Hey there, I’m Destiny Smart, the brains behind Bitcoin Africa Story.

Since entering the Bitcoin space, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with various Bitcoin communities, including YesBitcoinHaiti and Bitcoin Indonesia.

Also, I’m proud to be part of the Blink Bus Team, where I contribute by writing blog posts and articles for them.

This opportunity has allowed me to connect with incredible Bitcoiners like Brindon Mwiine, Co-Founder of Gorilla Sats & Bitcoin Kampala, Manlikekweks, Founder of POWA, Dread, Founder of Flash, and many more—through Blink (and yes, I don’t take all the credit).

I also graduated from The Core, where I had an amazing experience learning about Bitcoin.

Inspired by this newfound understanding, I was amazed and decided to spread the gospel to the world, to Africa, and to my country, Nigeria, in the best way I can.

So, I embarked on a Bitcoin-only project called Bitcoin Africa Story.

– Our Mission

We all know that Bitcoin is Durable, Portable, Fungible, Scarce, and Divisible.

But one thing Bitcoin isn’t yet is globally accepted, even here in Nigeria.

As a Bitcoiner, my primary obligation to Bitcoin is to give back by educating people through content, blogs, and education.

However, this is something I can’t do alone. I need your help to make this a reality for Bitcoin Africa Story: **As a beacon of Bitcoin Education.**

– Our Goal

Our goals are simple:

  • Bitcoin Education

  • Skills Empowerment

  • Gradually create a circular economy (in the long run)

– My Success Plan

The truth is, I can’t do this alone. As the saying goes, “the right way to win is through teamwork.”

So, I’ve mapped out a success plan that will help me achieve success on this journey, which I’ve outlined below.

Stage 1.

  • Get a new laptop.

  • Become a node in the MyFirstBitcoin Diploma as a Bitcoin Educator.

  • Seek guidance from Bitcoin Educators at MyFirstBitcoin.

  • Start online Bitcoin education.

  • Build a solid team for our project.

  • Create a Telegram group for volunteers.

  • Post more educational content on all social media platforms.

  • Teach interested students online skills so they can start contributing to the Bitcoin space.

Stage 2.

  • Host our first Bitcoin meetups.

  • Begin onboarding businesses to Bitcoin.

  • Publish more Bitcoin blog posts on our website (free version), like this one.

  • Plan to redesign or launch a new website to add more features and compensate the web designer.

Stage 3.

  • Create a circular economy in Nigeria.

  • Organize Bitcoin events.

I will be updating the list and posting progress using “Geyser posts” as we move forward.

I firmly believe that Bitcoin education is crucial for its global adoption.

As the world suffers from inflation, I believe Bitcoin is the counter solution. However, the only way to prove this to the world is through education.

While we can’t achieve everything at once, with your support, we can make a significant difference!

I’m reaching out to fellow Bitcoiners worldwide through Geyser, seeking funding to carry out our mission for Bitcoin in Africa. This funding will help us scale our educational efforts, develop better resources, and create impactful programs that will drive Bitcoin adoption across the continent.

Before I forget, I’ll be keeping you updated every week about our progress through our X

account @story_bitcoin.

So stay tuned—I’m going to be transparent with everything that’s going on inside our project: Bitcoin Africa Story.
