Understanding the Hedhi Huru Program

Before distributing the reusable menstrual kits, the team explained the purpose of the Hedhi Huru initiative and how the program helps girls stay in school with dignity and confidence.

Students were guided through a short survey to better understand their experiences and challenges related to menstrual health. This helped open a safe space for discussion and participation.

Training on Reusable Menstrual Kits

Once the survey was completed, the Hedhi Huru kits were unpacked and introduced to the students.

The training session covered:

  • The contents of the reusable menstrual kit

  • Proper use of the reusable pads

  • Cleaning and care instructions

  • How the kits help reduce cost and environmental waste

Students carefully examined the contents of their kits while trainers explained each item step-by-step.

Trainers responded with clear explanations, ensuring everyone understood how to use and care for the kits properly. The session also helped normalize conversations around menstrual health.

Building Confidence Through Education

The visit to Mbokomu Secondary School is another step forward in ensuring students have the knowledge and resources they need to manage menstrual health safely and confidently.

Through community support and initiatives like Hedhi Huru, we continue working toward a future where no student misses school due to lack of menstrual resources.

More schools are coming soon as we continue the mission of education, dignity, and opportunity for every student.
