Swamp Cycle

An argument in favor of specific government action is inseparable from the argument against what caused the need for it, but when the cause is government itself, it will be ignored.

Policy prescriptions give rise to unforeseen consequences which are used as justification for further intervention. This cycle provides job security for the swamp as government continues to grow.
