airplane roof

It took me a while to get to the A4 size sketchbook. I started out on A6 actually, can you believe it? I just felt I had to make it easy for myself, and reduce complexity as much as possible. A black fineliner and a small page. Just get the basics down first, right? Shape. Ratios. Line quality.

Small doodles I still do, but then spread out over A4. This was one case where I did the roof on top and felt completely done with it. I couldn’t force myself into finishing that building as I was only interesting in the shades on the tiles.

Then underneath I did a completely different drawing of a plane. And I created some clouds which took over the page. Now it’s kinda cool. Like the plane is flying through a dream or something.

I’m gonna do this more often. Connect these ideas in a single image. It must mean something. Or at least look interesting.

Have a good day.
